![]() The Sunderland AFC Supporters' Association (London & Southern England Branch) came into being in 1967 as a purely London-based body and we extended its geographical base as reflected in the current title in 1974. Its objective remains to promote support at all Sunderland's games and it enjoys excellent relationships with the directors, management and players of Sunderland AFC. As an associate branch of the parent Sunderland AFC Supporters' Association, the branch is an active member of both the Football Supporters’ Federation and APFSCIL. Membership is currently around 600. Trips are run to most Sunderland matches, usually by train though sometimes by coach, and the Branch receives an allocation of tickets for members for away games. The Branch is represented at darts, football and pool in the APFSCIL leagues, has a quiz team in the Home Counties Quiz League and fields a cricket team for friendly matches during the summer. Occasional social events are held and vary from small meetings to gatherings of up to 150 people who have included guests from the football club and other celebrities such as Steve Cram, the President of the Branch. A full range of Branch merchandise is available and a newsletter is published approximately six times per year containing match reports, social events and articles of a wide range relevant to the football club and its supporters.
