WEST BROMWICH ALBION

The London Baggies, were originally founded in 1976, and then reborn in December 1990. We were formed by Rab Rogers RIP in September 1976 and our first trips saw us beat Spurs 4-2 and Man Utd 4-0 at the Hawthorns - not a bad start! We were the first supporters branch to sponsor a game and had our own fanzine the "Euston Express" before such publications became popular. Although support dwindled through the eighties Paul Mason resurrected the branch in December 1990 after an away game at West Ham. Tony Vass took over in 1994.

The London branch membership automatically affiliates members to the main WBA supporters branch in West Bromwich - with whom we maintain close contact.

We run independently and hold meetings each month in London, usually on the last Monday evenings (except bank holidays) commencing at 7.30pm in 'The Gunmakers' 13 Eyre Street Hill, Clerkenwell. We have a thriving travel section organising rail trips for Saturday home games, and most away games, at special rates. Successful social evenings are arranged from time to time with special guests attending.

Match tickets for home or away games can be obtained through the London Branch for members, though availablity can be very limited for big games or small grounds! Regular travelling members WILL always receive preferential treatment for the limited allocation games.

We produce our own fanzine / newsletter 'Baggie Shorts' - free to members, 50p (inc postage) to non-members. Baggie Shorts appears five/six times during the season carrying match reports, branch news and miscellaneous items. The London Baggies runs a successful pool team in the APFSCIL League.

Our membership is usually around 80-90 each season, and this year the subscription is £10.00 Adult, £15.00 Family & £5.00 Concessions.
